The Hillmen Foundation

Enriching Placer High for the Greater Auburn Community…and Beyond


Nestled in the heart of downtown Auburn is one of the most historic and beautiful high schools in California. For nearly 125 years, Placer High School – home of the Hillmen – has been an integral part of Greater Auburn. It is exceptionally woven into the very fabric of our community – educationally, culturally, socially, and economically.

Providing the margin of excellence between state funding and an outstanding learning environment is the Hillmen Foundation, an independent, all-volunteer nonprofit organization. 


Supported by generous alumni, businesses, civic groups, and community donors, the Hillmen Foundation benefits all students in the areas of academics, athletics and activities. It also serves as the alumni association for Placer High, connecting generations of graduates with those who shaped their most memorable teen years. 

Our Focus

Academics

Central to the Hillmen Foundation’s mission is ensuring that our students, faculty and staff have the resources they need to enhance student learning. Our classroom and career tech grants and initiatives often bridge the gap between education funding and what students need to excel in a 21st century learning environment. Scholarships for graduating seniors also help advance and inspire students to achieve beyond their high school years.

Athletics

Hillmen pride is embodied in a long and storied history of athletic accomplishments. Our athletics grants help provide the equipment and improvements needed to encourage safe development of our student athletes, upgrade facilities for both athletes and fans, and support lifelong fitness in our community.

Activities

An exceptional education is a synergy between the classroom and outside activities. Our activities grants support a wide breadth of programs, including assemblies, special events, field trips, Grad Night, Eagle Scout projects, community service, outreach to middle and elementary students, and much more.

Alumni

With more than a century in Auburn, Placer High graduates have profoundly impacted our community and world throughout modern history. Many families have multiple generations who have attended and graduated from Placer High. Our alumni activities help promote the contributions of our alumni, as well as connections between the school, community, and generations of grads, faculty, staff, coaches, and friends.

Special Projects and Initiatives

Placer High School's central location in downtown Auburn makes it an important asset to the greater community. Our special grants to capital projects and other initiatives have enhanced the facilities and environment that benefit a wide range of school programs, as well as community groups.
